The Confederations of African Football body, (CAF) executive committee reiterated in its meeting of Tuesday 14 March held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that they will not rest until the matter between Philip Chiyagwa and the African football mother body is put to justice.

In its deleberations, the Executive Committee of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) , under the presidency of Issa Hayatou, unanimously recommended the CAF Disciplinary Board to proceed with the case of COSAFA President, also President of the Federation of Zimbabwe, Mr. Philip Chiyangwa who recently had multiple actions and statements that appear to be attacking the honour of CAF.

Chiyagwa was recently embroiled in a war of words with the CAF Executives, after inviting the FIFA president Gianni Infantino to his personal achievement celebrations in Zimbabwe last month without the consent of the African football body.

The impasse between CAF and Chiyagwa emanated from the latter's decision to openly oppose the current 'ancient leadership' of Issa Hayatou in favour of Malagasy FA president Ahmad Ahmad in the coming CAF presidential elections on 16 March.

The tension has become stronger as the elections draw closer, leaving the ordinary Zimbabwean football lover only wondering what fate beholds our football as a nation after all this.
