Tatenda Mukuruva Set To Make His Cape Town City Debut

Zimbabwe Warriors number one goalkeeper, Tatenda Mkuruva is set to make his Cape Town City debut on Sunday 12th March 2017 since joining the Cape Town based outfit in February from Harare giants Dynamos F.C.

The 21-year-old talented youngster is second choice to veteran South African goalie Shu-Aib Walters and is likely to get his first match for the PSL new franchisee - Cape Town based outfit in a Nedbank round of 32 match against second division minnows Acornbush F.C. this Sunday.

Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has hinted that he will definitely make changes to his usual first eleven in trying to give all his players a chance to get game time.

"We will definitely make changes, but it’s not out of disrespect to our opposition,” said Tinkler.

“There are some players who haven’t got a lot of game time, so we have to bring them in. We believe the players in our squad are all capable of being in the starting team, so they will be given the opportunity.”

Mkuruva is currently laying in the shadows of 35-year-old Walters who has been a pillar of strength for Cape Town City's good run this season - managing 17 league starts from 20 games that City have played this season prompting his latest national team call up to Bafana Bafana.

With Walters also suspended for the Nedbank cup match against Acornbush F.C,  Mkuruva is highly likely to make his Cape Town City debut on Sunday.
