Kasper Schmeichel Wins 2016/17 Leicester City Player Of The Season Award

Denmark international goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichael was named Leicester City Player Of The Year 2016/17 season by the club's supporters at King Power annual awards ceremony on Monday 15 May.

The 30-year-old shot-stopper scooped the Player's Player of the year award before winning the night's biggest- Player of The Season Award with over 75% of Leicester City fans voting for him.

Wilfred Ndidi won Younger Player Of the season while Danny Drinkwater scooped the goal of the season award.

"I'm hugely grateful for the fans' support. We've certainly had our shares of ups and downs throughout the seasons here with the Play-Off loss, promotion, nearly getting relegated and then winning the league", said Schmeichael

"It's been very important for us to have the backing of the fans all the way through. From the first day that I stepped in the door, I've felt the warmth of the fans. They've been magnificent and I think the atmosphere that they create at the stadium and away from home is second to none."

The event was hosted at the King Power stadium in attendance of the whole Leicester City squad.
