Zim's Nomadic Striker Wins Premier League Title And Heads Scoring Charts In Botswana

Former Maritzburg United and Chiangmai F.C (Thailand) forward, Terrence Mandaza has won the Botswana 2016/17 Premier League title with Township Rollers F.C after topping the log with a five point gape and a game in hand ahead of rivals Galaxy F.C.

The 32-year old former Warriors forward is also likely to finish as the league's top goal scorer as he jointly heads the BTC top scorer charts together with Gaborone United's Tumisang Orebonye who both scored 16 goals each this season, Mandaza with a game in hand.

Mandaza began his playing career at Township Rollers before moving to South Africa and joined Platinum Stars for the 2010/11 season. He stayed at Dikwena for two seasons but wasn’t given enough game time and in July 2012 he was bought by Maritzburg United, where he played until July 2015 when he moved to Thailand's Chiangmai F.C.

In 2016 the striker was re-signed at his former club Township Rollers were he is currently enjoying the re-surgent of his football career. He is in line of becoming the second successive - Zimbabwean player to win Botswana's Green Boot after Tendai Nyamadzawo who won it in last year 2015/16 season.

Township Rollers will be crowned Botswana Premier League Champions on Saturday 27 May after their final league encounter against Galaxy F.C.
