How The Warriors Could Line-Up Against Liberia

Zimbabwe-Warriors will be looking to have a good start in their 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifying group by securing three points against Liberia at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Norman Mapeza has been forced to make huge changes ahead of the meeting with the Lone Star after missing key players like  shot-stopper -Tatenda Mukuruva,  Costa Nhamoinesu, Khama Billiat, Cuthbert Malajila, Nyasha Mushekwi,  Mathew Rusike and former captain and industrious midfielder, Willard Katsande from the squad due to various reasons.

The Warriors hold a head to head advantage against Liberia having met the Lone Star only two times, winning once and a draw.

Mapeza made his debut as Warriors coach in September 2010 against same opponents in a 1-all draw 2012 nations cup qualifyer in Monrovia before a 3-nil reverse fixture in Harare and will be looking to mantain his dominance over the Lone Star in a competitive group G that includes Congo Brazzaville and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Consequently, the F.C Platinum coach is likely to turn to a few experienced heads to guide the younger players in the squad to face Liberia including Polokwane City goalie, George Chigova in goals.

In the full back positions Mapeza could look for the services of  Ngezi Platinum skipper - Partson Jaure, Ajax Cape Town's Eric Chipeta, Chicken Inn's Teenage Hadebe and Supersport United's Onismo Bhasera over the inexperienced, Dennis Dauda and Qadr Amini.

Central midfield positions could be comprised of inform Netherlands based star, Marvelous Nakamba and Golden Arrows hardman, Danny Phiri with Kudakwashe Mahachi and diminutive Caps United winger Ronald Chitiyo presumably occupying the left and right flanks.

KV Oostende marksman and new Warriors skipper, Knowledge Musona together with Maritzburg United lanky forward, Evans Rusike will probably be partnered to lead the attack-force.

Should Mapeza feel particularly optimistic about his chances against Liberia, he might be tempted to use the dynamic 3-4-2-1 formation.

A back three comprising of Eric Chipeta on the right and Onismo Bhasera on the left supplemented by the experience of Partson Jaure on the swipper position.

On the wide flanks, Kudakwashe Mahachi and Ronald Chitiyo are the ideal candidates with Marvelous Nakamba and Danny Phiri partnering in the middle of the park.

Knowledge Musona and Evans Rusike could be joined by Orlando Pirates hitman, Tendai Ndoro in the attack.
