Ajax Cape Town Edging Closer For Prince Dube's Signature

Ajax Cape Town are reportedly edging closer to land the signature of Highlanders forward and Zimbabwe's COSAFA Castle cup star, Prince Dube ahead of the new season.

The 20-year-old Zimbabwe Premier League second top goal scorer has been on Ajax Cape Town radar for a while now and is ear-marked to replace veteran forward Nathan Paulse, who has retired.

A source close to Dube's representatives has revealed that the forward is a wanted man with various clubs in South Africa's top flight league prompting the Urban Warriors to step up their bid for the Highlanders striker.

“I am certain that he will be going to Ajax for trials. They have been following the boy for a while and they are keen to see him in training. He will not be going back to Zimbabwe after the tournament,” the source revealed.

The source also claimed that there is one of South Africa top teams lurking in the dark to snatch Dube's signature if Ajax Cape Town drag their feet.

“There is big club hunting for his signature. They don’t want him to do trials. They just want to sign him, but I cannot divulge the name for now. I might jeopardise the deal. For now, his signature is the most-sought,” the source said.

Prince Cube is currently in South Africa with Zimbabwe-Warriors were they have qualified for Cosafa Castle cup semi-finals. They will play Lesotho on Wednesday.
