Macaulay Bonne Bids To Get Career Back On Track With Orient After Struggling At Colchester

England-born and Zimbabwe-Warriors hopeful, Macaulay Bonne admits life at Colchester United did not go to plan and will now try to kick-start his stuttering career with Leyton Orient F.C.

The 21-year-old forward who made his Warriors debut in a Under-23 friendly match against Morocco in 2014, quit Colchester United last week to join Orient on a two-year deal, having struggled to get game time at United.

Colchester head coach McGreal says Bonne who had been with the club since academy felt it was the right time for him to move onto pastures new and end his time in north Essex.

Speaking to Essex County's Daily Gazette, McGreal said, “Macauley had been here for a number of years and I think he’s only had 20-odd starts in four or five years.

“He came to us and expressed that he wanted to kick-start his career and he’s shown that he’s a man to say that.

“He went out on loan a couple of times last season and now it’s an opportunity for him to kick-start his career and we wish him all the best," said McGreal.

Bonne who previously failed to honor senior national team call-Up during the last Afcon campaign due to irregularities in his personal documents - will be looking to regain his place in the Warriors set up once he is settled at Orient.
