Cuthbert Malajila Could Be Mamelodi Sundowns' Formidable Forward In Domestic Competitions This Season

The inclusion of Zimbabwe forward and Absa premiership double champion, Cuthbert Malajila in Mamelodi Sundowns' 36-man squad this season could make the difference for Masandawana in the race for the premiership title.

The 31-year-old veteran forward who spent the last season on loan to Bidvest Wits, is still waiting for his South African residential permit to make his first appearance for Masandawana this season and could be of handy in the team's domestic aspirations.

Having enjoyed game time last season under Gavin Hunt, scoring 4 goals and winning the premier league title for the second consecutive time, Malajila has massive experience to make a difference and bring back the title to Chloorkop.

Although Malajila, who had been a subject of a move from Chloorkop in the last transfer window, is not as skillful or doesn't posses a great first touch but he is a very good game-reader. He knows how to move in the box, he exploits any minimal amount of space available and seems to know where the second balls are going to end up - making him a formidable forward.

Mamelodi Sundowns currently have Percy Tau, Yannick Zakri, Abdul Razak, Leornado Castro and Sekotlong on the list of their center-forwards. But with commitment in the CAF Champions League, and the unreliability of Castro who seem to have issues with the club, Malajila who is ineligible for CAF competitions this season with Masandawana after representing Wits, could be instrumental for Pitso Mosimane in domestic competitions.
