Cuthbert Malajila Could Be Sidelined For Weeks With A Knee Injury

Zimbabwe international veteran forward, Cuthbert Malajila faces weeks on the sidelines after he got injured in Mamelodi Sundowns' match against Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old Absa premier league double champion, was stretchered out in the dying minutes of the game against Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday night after coming on as a substitute for Khama Billiat in the 83rd minute.

Malajila who was scheduled for a scan on Friday to determine the depth of his injury, will know his fate from the team doctors after they see his scan results.

"The scan is done but the results were sent to team doctors. They are the ones who would be able to explain the extent of the injury," said Malajila speaking to soca263.

However, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane beleives Malajila could be sidelined for a long time with his injury.

"He could take up to weeks to recover, his injury looks bad," said Mosimane ahead of a visit to Amazulu on Saturday afternoon.

Malajila who recently received his South African residential permit, made his debut for Mamelodi Sundowns on 1st October 2017 against Platinum Stars after returning from a one year loan spell with Bidvest Wits.
