Reason For Khama Billiat's Exclusion From Lesotho, Namibia Friendlies Revealed!

Zimbabwe-Warriors interim coach, Wilson Mutekede revealed the reasons why he omitted Mamelodi Sundowns star, Khama Billiat from his 22 member squad to travel to Lesotho and Namibia on 08-11November respectively.

Speaking to soca263.com, Mr Mutekede said Khama Billiat was in his initial plans but was refused permission by his club.

"Sundowns registered issues to do with monitoring his recovery from injury. Khama was part of the squad, we wanted him to play but it's not up to us," said Mutekede who will be leading Warriors in both encounters.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been recently plangued by injuries since last season were he missed 7 matches sidelined with an injury. And this season Billiat has only featured 5 times out of 11 matches for Mamelodi Sundowns in all competitions having recovered from a hip injury that kept him out for two weeks.

The troubled star, has since featured consecutively in the club's previous two matches against Chippa United and Orlando Pirates respectively.

In June this year, Billiat was on centre stage of a tag of war between Zifa and the club after the player failed to turn up for an Afcon qualifyer match against Liberia due to injury.
