Rutendo Makore Signs For Spanish Liga Feminina Side, SC Huelva!

Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors and Black Rhinos Queens forward, Rutendo Makore is departing Harare for Madrid in Spain today after signing a six months loan contract with Liga Feminina side, Sporting Huelva .

The 25-year old Chegutu-born goal-poacher, impressed her suitors during the COSAFA Women Championship held recently in Zimbabwe where "Madzimai" as she is nicknamed by her fans, scored ten goals for Mighty Warriors, winning the golden boot and helping Zimbabwe finish as runners up at the tournament.

Sporting Huelva are based in the Spanish City of Huelva and participate in the Spanish Women's top flight- Primera Division Femenina. They are currently struggling, having only earned 10 points from 10 matches they have played so far in the season and Makore will definitely be a big boost in their search for goals.

Speaking to ZBC, Makore expressed joy for realising her dream of playing in Europe.

"I'm very happy to have signed the contract with the club. It has always been my dream to play in Europe.

Makore will go down in the history of Zimbabwean football as the first ever woman to ply their trade in Europe's top flight league.
