Ajax Cape Town Bound Gerald Takwara Gets Advice From Katsande

Former FC Platinum midfider and Ajax Cape Town bound, Gerald Takwara could not wish for a better flight on his way to South Africa to join the mother city based outfit as he travelled alongside ex-Urban Warriors veteran midfielder, Willard Katsande.

The 22-year old Zimbabwe COSAFA Castle cup 2017 anchorman, who plays in a similar fashion to Katsande, flew to South Africa on Boxing day to join the Urban Warriors on the same flight with Kaizer Chiefs stronghold, Willard Katsande who was returning from his Under-18 tournament in Mutare.

Takwara had the opportunity to receive advice from Katsande, who also began his international career at Ajax Cape Town.

"He told me a lot about what to expect when I start playing for Ajax and football in general in the South African league," said Takwara speaking to The Herald newspaper.

“But most importantly he told me to work hard when I get there, he said my coach (Ertugral) also likes to work with people who are hard-working. He told me that supporters there want the best out of us and that it was important for me to hit the ground running so that my abilities will not be questioned,” said Takwara.

Takwara signed a three-year deal with the Urban Warriors in the second week of December and is expected to be unveiled soon.
