'Khama Billiat Will Not Leave Mamelodi Sundowns For Another SA PSL Team!'

With only six months left on Khama Billiat's current contract with former African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns - and with no intentions of renewing his deal at the Brazilians, there has been high speculation to where the Zimbabwean star is heading next.

Many reports in the South African media have been linking the Africa Player of the year 2016 finalist to Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates in the January transfer window, but according to a source close to the player, Billiat will not leave Sundowns for a local team.

"He might leave Sundowns this January, but he will definitely not leave for another PSL club," the source told

"Billiat has enjoyed an illustrious career at Sundowns and won almost everything there is in the PSL, he is now looking for a different challenge elsewhere."

"His wish is to play in Europe. There has been a number of clubs interested in him. It's up to Sundowns to take offers or risk losing him for free in June," said the source.

Billiat has won two Premier League titles, the Nedbank cup, Telkom knockout cup before being named Footballer of the Season, Players' Player of the Season and Midfielder of the Season at the PSL awards in 2016, ending as first runner-up in the 'CAF Player of the Year - based in Africa' category early this year.

Egyptian giants, Zamalek and Al Ahly are reportedly among many clubs monitoring Billiat's situation in hope of swooping the player in January.
