Ovidy Karuru Targets Historic Win With Amazulu!

Zimbabwe international and Amazulu midfielder, Ovidy Karuru is aiming for a victory  in the club's first ever competitive encounter against Cape Town City in an Absa Premiership fixture on Friday.

Speaking on Amazulu club website, the 27-year-old COSAFA Castle Cup 2017 golden boot winner is confident of a victory over the Citizens on Friday.

“I know it is the first time we are playing against Cape Town City,” Karuru said.
“But we have seen their previous games and they are a very good team. You can’t take that away from them.

“However, they have their weaknesses. They are conceding goals. So, we need to work on our finishing,” said the former Kaizer Chiefs player.

“We have to go there fully prepared. Since it’s our first meeting, we need to make history by winning the game,” said Karuru.

Karuru has made 7 premier league appearances for Amazulu this season with four goal assists to his name and a win against Cape Town City will see them climb up to 8th position on the log.

They are currently on 12th position in the log with 15 points from 12 games.
