Big Saturday! For Zim SA-Based Stars As They Illuminate Absa Premiership With Goals!

As the second phase of the Absa premier league season in South Africa get in full swing - with all games getting more important and much exciting, Zimbabwean stars are not left out in the fest, getting on the scoresheet week in week out.

Saturday the 20th of January was a big day as most of them were on target for their respective clubs in the premiership competition.

Evans Rusike was first to put his name on the scoresheet after helping Maritzburg United to a convincing 0-3 win away to Free State Stars. The Kaizer Chiefs target man, scored The Team of Choice's second goal in the 59th minute after Andrea Fillecia opened the scoring soon after the break. Bandile Shandu sealed the win with a goal in the 87th minute to award Maritzburg United three points.

Khama Billiat was next - after some feats and starts to his 2017/18 season at Masandawa - mainly due to injury, the want away Brazilian star seemed to be keeping focus on football despite the drama in his transfer saga as he scored a brace in Mamelodi Sundowns' 3-0 rout of Platinum Stars on Saturday.

The Zimbabwean star scored successively in the 32nd and 37th minute to seal a 3-0 win before he was substituted in the 63rd minute for new signing Aubrey Ngoma. Sibusiso Vilakazi score the first goal in the 22nd minute.

Karuru registered his name on the scoresheet with a gifted goal from goalkeeper's blander in the 44th minute to seal a 2-0 win for Amazulu against giants Supersport United after Siyabonga Nomvete opened the scoring for Usuthu.

Former Caps United talisman, Dominic Chungwa was the centre of attention as he came out on his debut to score a fantastic goal to break the deadlock in the first 18' minutes as Polokwane City went to half time leading Orlando Pirates by a goal to nil.

Chungwa was later substituted in the 61' minutes before Pirates got their equaliser in the 87' minutes through youngster, Lyle Foster to force a draw a share of the spoils.

Another Zimbabwe international who was also in action on Saturday for Ajax Cape Town, Gerald Takwara received his first red card in the Absa premiership after he got a second yellow card in the 44th minute.

Ajax Cape Town went on to lose the Cape Town derby match 0-1 to Cape Town City.
