Nakamba's Club Brugge Stack-Up Against Europe's Best As They End 2017 On A Purple Patch!

Zimbabwe international star midfielder, Marvelous Nakamba's Belgian outfit, Club Brugge are among Europe's best perfoming clubs at the moment after ending 2017 on a rich run of form in the Belgian Pro-league.

The Blue Army had a great first half of the season in the Belgian Pro-league, amassing a total of 53 points from 21 games, with a phenomenal rate of 2.52 points per match - creating an intergalactic gap of eleven points ahead of second placed Charleroi.

In Comparison with the other top European leagues, only Manchester City have built up a bigger lead than Club Brugge. City finished the year with a 12 points gap ahead of rivals Manchester United after being held to a draw by Crystal Palace on New Years' Eve to end their 18-match unbeaten run.

In Spain, Barcelona finished the year nine points clear of Atletico Madrid,  so as French giants, PSG who also finished 2017 nine points ahead of Monaco.

Bayern Munich were the top team in Germany, steering the Bundasliga with a eleven point gap ahead of Schalke 04 prior to the new year.

Nakamba's side achieved a record 53 out of 63 points in the first half of the season , the first club in the Jupiler Pro-league to reach such numbers since the inception of playoffs system in Belgium eight seasons ago.

Besides a gap on top of the table, Club Brugge's incredible run have set them up as huge title contenders this season as they pulverized domestic records along the way, scoring the highest number of goals in the league (53 goals), collected more points than any club in Belgium and a second best defense in the league after Genk with a goal difference of plus 34. They have won 17 of their total - 21 matches so far this season.

Nakamba has been outstanding in Brugge's successful first half run of the season, making 19 out of 21 league appearances in his debut season with the club.

The 23-year old is enjoying his football at Brugge ever since he arrived from Eridisivie league side, Vietesse Arnhem in July 2017 and is reportedly under the radar of English premier league sides, Liverpool and Newcastle United.
