Zim Star Targets A Return To Serie A!

French-born Zimbabwean forward, Saladé Machemba is aiming for a return back to Italy's Serie A side, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio after spending a season in the Major Leage Soccer with Canada's Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 25-year old star who returned to Zimbabwe with his family at the age of two before moving back to Europe in 2009 to further his academic and football career, joined MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps at the beginning of 2017 in search of first team football after signing a three-year deal with Italy Serie A side, Atalanta BC in 2016.

Now Machemba, who is eager to play for Zimbabwe-Warriors,  is looking to go back to Serie A to challenge for a first team position at Atalanta BC after his contract at MLS outfit ended in December 2017.

Speaking to soca263, Machemba believe he is ready to finally break into Atalanta BC first team.

"It was my intention to leave Italy but there were some forcing matters which led me to exit Serie A," said Machemba

"But i'm currently in touch with my old club and a move back is possible,"

The former Manchester City under 21 player was on the verge of becoming the first Zimbawean to play in the top Italian league before he decided to move to Canada.

"I was excited, so as everyone who knows me that I was about to make history in Serie A, but it was not a good time.

Machemba is one of Zimbabwe-Warriors' prospects for the future and has expressed interest to play for the Warriors.

"It will be great if i can get the chance of playing for the national team," Machemba said.

"I just put everything in God's hands, he is the only way.

 "Peter Ndlovu is the guy normally helps me when i need help. He's there to guide me and give me good advice as a professional soccer player," 

Besides football, Machemba has a degree in Accounts from University of Birmingham in the UK.
