Knowledge Musona's KV Oostende Now Under New Ownership

It has been long since the now former KV Oostende Chairman, Marc Coucke was looking to sell KVO Football Club after buying Anderlecht at the end of last year with many potential buyers including Manchester City group, owners of high flying English premier league side Manchester City F.C, lining up to purchase the club, but  Peter Callant, a 51-year-old insurance broker and financial advisor won the bid.

"There was a lot of interest from home and abroad, but i am happy with the outcome,"  says the KVO outgoing Chairman, Coucke after concluding the sale of his coastal club.

"Financially a foreign club perhaps would have been more interesting, but a Belgian provides continuity and peace in Belgian Football,"

He (Peter Callant) has a heart for sports, likes football and has a heart for KVO. He was here (KVO) in 1993 in the board and is very ambitious.

Callant is believed to have purchased more than 90% of the shares with 5% being offered to real estate entrepreneur, Bart Versluys - the man who built the new state of the art stadium- Versluys Arena, which is the home ground for KVO.

Manchester City another name that was on the list of potential buyers, wanted to purchase 51% of the shares, but the deal did not work out in the end.

The official transfer of power at KVO takes place on Saturday and Coucke will officially wave goodbye to his coastal team as he sets his sights on his new role as the Anderlecht chairman.

Meanwhile, Anderlecht are reportedly looking to lure Juventus target and Zimbabwean star, Knowledge Musona to join his former employer at the Anderlecht next season, but it remains to be seen as the Warriors skipper seem  indispensable at KV Oostende.
