Ovidy Karuru's Last Minute Goal Not Enough To Save Amazulu From Nedbank Cup Exit

It was just too little too late for Amazulu as Ovidy Karuru scored in the last minute of the game in what could have been a dramatic come back, but his goal was not enough to help his side succumbed to a 3-2 loss at home to Ubuntu Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 on Friday night.

The 29-year-old COSAFA Castle Cup 2017 golden boot winner, scored a beautiful header from close range in the 90th minute of the game to give Usuthu their second goal as they launch a late come back after conceding three goals in the 48th minute to NFD side, Ubuntu Cape Town.

Mabhuti Kanyeza scored Amazulu's first goal in the 76th minute to spark a fight back, but it was all in vain as their efforts were eventually consumed by time. 2-3 it ended and Amazulu are out of the Nedbank Cup.

Buthelwezwe Ncube, another Zimbabwean international at Amazulu, played full game after missing out in the team's previous two league encounters due to suspension.
