Ovidy Karuru Shines In Amazulu's 2-1 Win Over Platinum Stars!


Zimbabwe and former Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder, Ovidy Karuru was in a form of his own as he opened the scoring for Amazulu plus a goal assist in the team's 2-1 win away to relegation threatened side, Platinum Stars on Wednesday night.

The 29-year-old COSAFA Cup 2017 Golden boot winner, drew first blood in the 61st minutes after a stunning header off a Sibusiso Mabaliso's cross to give Usuthu a deserving lead in the second half.

After some 20 minutes of play, man of the match, Karuru turned from scorer to provide a superb assist to Mhlengi Cele who doubled the lead for Usuthu before Dikwena scored a consolation goal in the 86th minutes through Letsie Koapeng. 2-1 it ended in favour of Usuthu.

Karuru has now scored three premier league goals and five assists in 19 starts for Amazulu this season.

Fellow Zimbabwean international and teammate, Butholezwe Ncube also played full game as Amazulu move up to position 8 on the log with  35 points from 28 matches.
