Upcoming sensational Arsenal youngster, Reiss Nelson is hopeful he will sign a new contract at the Emirates in the coming weeks after making his full premier league debut in Arsenal's 3-2 home win over Southampton on Sunday.

The 18-year-old highly-rated starlet who was born in England to an English mother and a Zimbabwean father revealed his desire to pen down a new contract at Arsenal ending speculation of a Real Madrid or PSG swoop, who were reportedly interested in signing the youngster.

“It is a big achievement to sign for a big club like Arsenal so I'm just delighted with the contract and hopeful that I can sign it soon,” said Nelson.

Nelson, an Arsenal academy graduate, has made 15 first-team appearances since signing a professional contract with the club two years ago, playing mostly in the Europa League, but was still to make a full premier league debut for Arsenal.

“A Premier League start was on the cards but I think I need to score, that is the only one I haven't achieved so fingers crossed I can get a cheeky goal before the end of the season.”

The youngster is a vital member of the England Under-19 squad, but also eligible to represent Zimbabwe-Warriors at international level if he agrees to.

Zifa technical team is currently trying hard to establish contact with the youngster to try and convince him to choose Zimbabwe-Warriors over England's Three Lions.
