Alec Mudimu Charmed By The Quality In Warriors Team And Believes They Can Reach Far!

Welsh-based Warriors new boy, Alec Mudimu was pleased by the quality of players in the Warriors squad that triumphanted at the recently ended Cosafa Cup 2018 edition by lifting their record sixth Cosafa Championship, and believed they are capable of reaching as far as the World Cup.

The 23-year old Cefn Druids midfielder, who was part of the Warriors squad that beat Zambia 4-2 in the extra time of the Cosafa Cup 2018 final on Saturday at New Peter Mokaba stadium, to earn his first medal with Zimbabwe Warriors is already dreaming of the World Cup after successfully defending the Cosafa Cup.

"The quality here is high," said Mudimu speaking to The Standard

"I see this team going very far. One day, hopefully, we get to the World Cup."

Mudimu who is bound to play Europa league football next season with Cefn Druids had a good showing at the tournament playing as a center-back and even converted the crucial penalty that sends Zimbabwe to the finals after a nil all in the regulation time against Lesotho.

Mudimu, however is eager to go past the Warriors' next challenge - the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

"We want to qualify and go further than the last time. I beleive we can. This squad is strong and has depth. I can safely say Afcon and the World Cup are certainly calling, said Mudimu.
