Kaitano Tembo Reaches First Final As Supersport United Head Coach After Knocking Out Kaizer Chiefs!

Supersport United coach, Kaitano Tembo was a happy man after edging Kaizer Chiefs 0-1 (2-3 aggregate) on Saturday night to reach the finals of the MTN8 trophy for the first time as Supersport United head coach and aims to defend the Cup.

The 48-year-old former Zimbabwe Warriors defender who is fast growing into one of Absa premiership master tactician, managed to beat giants Kaizer Chiefs 0-1 in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-finals played on Saturday after drawing 2-all in the first leg which was played last Sunday.

Bradley Grobbler's solitary 58' minutes goal was enough for Supersport United to reach the MTN8 finals for the second time in a row after last year's competition where they eventually won the trophy, with Tembo as assistant coach.

Another Zimbabwean international on Supersport United books star forward, Evans Rusike played 84 minutes setting up Reneilwe Letsolenyane for the assist on Grobbler's winning goal.

Tembo was appointed as Supersport United head coach at the start of the season, but he has already managed to reunite and bring back the spark to former Absa premiership Champions and poised for his first silverware as United head coach.

Supersport United will play the finals against winner between Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns who are scheduled to play on Sunday in another semi-final battle.
