Khama Billiat's Goal Earns Zim Warriors An Away Point To Remain On Top Of Group G!

Khama Billiat's stunning first half goal was enough to earn Zimbabwe Warriors a point in the Group G of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after drawing 1-1 away to Congo-Brazzaville on Sunday afternoon.

The 28-year-old Kaizer Chiefs marksman who shook off a hamstring injury to feature in Chidzambga's starting eleven against Congo, opened the scoring in the first 23rd minutes after tapping from close range a cross from skipper Knowledge Musona to give Zimbabwe a 0-1 lead in the first half of the match

Zimbabwe Warriors who were playing in a non branded kit, looked good in the first half with Khama Billiat, Knowledge Musona and Kudakwashe Mahachi tantalizing fans with their skills and good passing threads creating a lot of chances that could have put them 3 goals ahead had it not been for poor finishing.

The second half was a different ball game altogether with Congo-Brazzaville coming back a more determined side, shifting play and controlling much of the position, getting deservedly equalizer in the 50th minutes through Thievy Bifouma after capitalizing from Warriors' defensive mishap.

However Chidzambga's man regained momentum later on in the second half after the introduction of Talent Chawapihwa and Tafadzwa Kutinyu for Kuda Mahachi and Khama Billiat who were showing signs of exhaustion, but the scoreline remained 1-1.

Divine Lunga, Nyasha Munetsi and Teenage Hadebe really stood out from the rest in this game as they put out man of the match performances to neutralize the Congolese.

The Warriors remain on top of Group G after earning a point away to Congo, with Liberia and DR Congo drawing 1-1 in another Group G match played on Sunday.

Billiat's goal is his ninth international goals for Zimbabwe Warriors.

Zimbabwe will take on DR Congo in their next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match.
