Tough Call As Mhofu Set To Trim Warriors Squad Before Congo!

Having initially picked 28 players in his provisional squad to play Congo Brazzaville on the 9th of September in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, coach Sunday Chidzambga has a tough call to make as he is expected to trim down his squad to only 18 players.

The 66-year-old veteran coach has now left with 24 players from his initial squad after the withdrawal of the British-born players due to complications in acquiring Zimbabwe passports. Nyasha Mushekwi who joined camp earlier this week is also ruled out as he is allegedly not fit to play as he came only to present his medical report.

The experienced coach has plenty to ponder as all of the 24 players picked looked capable of doing the duty in Congo Brazzaville on Sunday. Khama Billiat who was initially feared he could miss the Congo tie due to a hamstring injury he is carrying, is now reportedly fit to play on Sunday adding to Chidzambga's woes in who to leave out before they travel to Brazzaville on Friday.

The coach is expected to drop six players from his current 24-member squad.

Here are all the players in camp at the moment.

Goalkeepers: George Chigova (Polokwane), Donovan Benard (Ngezi), Edmore Sibanda (Witbank), Talbert Shumba (Chapungu)
