Weekend Action Wrap: Matthew Rusike Wins First Silverware With Cape Town City,Nakamba Returns From Injury, Kelvin Lunga Jnr On Target In Germany And More!

As we begin a fresh week today, we look back and reflect on all the action on how our foreign based stars performed during the weekend.

Several stars were in action in different leagues around the world, but Matthew Rusike and Kelvin Lunga Jnr highlighted the best of the weekend action after winning a major silverware and scoring a goal in huge win respectively.

Matthew Rusike (28) claimed his first silverware with Cape Town City on Saturday after beating Kaitano Tembo's Supersport United 1-4 on penalties.

The former Monomotapa FC forward has now added his fifth trophy in his cabinet after winning the MTN8 cup back in 2014 with Kaizer Chiefs, 2x Absa premiership titles again at Kaizer Chiefs in 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons, Tunisian FA Cup title in 2016/17 with Tunisian giants Club African.

Rusike was an unused substitute as Cape Town City drew 0-0 to Supersport United before winning 1-4 on penalties to lift the MTN8 trophy for the first time ever since he joined the Citizens in January 2018.

Kelvin Lunga jnr, the son of former Dynamos scoring legend and Germany based Maxwell Lunga Makanza is following in his father's footsteps after scoring again in the Germany Regionalliga West to beat SC Wiendenbruck 5-0 on Saturday.

The 22-year-old SV Rondinghausen attacking midfielder found the net in the 74th minutes of the game to increase Rondinghausen's lead to 4-0 After Azur Velagic, Daniel Flottmann, and Simon Engelmann's goals in the fist 65th minutes.

Lunga later came off in the 77th minutes before Simon Engelmann completed his brace and seal a 5-0 rout of  visiting Wiedenbruck.

The Germany born youngster has now scored two league goals in 7 matches so far this season for the Germany fourth tier side.

In England Macauley Bonne played full game on Saturday as Leyton Orient's record run of 14 games without loss in the league comes to an end with a 0-1 defeat at home to Sutton United.

Tendayi Darikwa was an unused substitute as Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 away to Blackburn Rovers.

Evans Rusike played full game and Onismor Bhasera an unused substitute as Kaitano Tembo missed the opportunity to grab his first silverware as Supersport United head coach after suffering a 1-4 loss on penalties on Saturday evening.

In Belgium, it was a welcoming sight seeing Marvelous Nakamba taking his first minutes ever since the start of the season for Club Brugge after a long injury lay off.

The 24-year-old midfield maestro was introduced in the half hour mark for Mats Rits as he marked his return from injury in Club Brugge's 4-0 win at home to Cercle Brugge.on Saturday.

Fellow Belgian based Zimbabwean international and Warriors skipper Knowledge Musona was an unused substitute in Anderlecht\s 0-0 draw at home to Sint Truidense VV on Sunday.
