Zimbabwe Warriors To Depart For Congo On Friday!

Zimbabwe Warriors have began their preparations for the Africa Cup of nations second group match against Congo Brazzaville scheduled on the 9th of September in earnest as many players arrived for camp in Harare yesterday with the team scheduled to depart for Brazzaville on Friday.

Despite the squad being rocked by injuries, more than half of the players that were called in for the
Congo Brazzaville encounter have already reported for camp on the first day.

Coach Sunday Chidzambga initially called 28 players in camp for the game against Congo, but only 24 are expected to arrive after the withdrawal of the British-born players who were denied Zimbabwean passports by the Home Affairs Office.

Only injured players including Club Brugge midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, Sparta Prague defender Costa Nhamoinesu, Amazulu midfielder Ovidy Karuru, Le Havre new signing Tinotenda Kadewere and troubled Chinese based star Nyasha Mushekwi are missing out, but replacements have already been made.

Many South African based stars arrived in camp yesterday including Khama Billiat who is carrying a hamstring injury to join their local based counterparts at Yadah Sports Complex where they will train up to Thurday before they leave for Brazzaville on Friday.

Players reported for camp including George Chigova, Donovan Bernard, Edmore Sibanda, Talbert Shumba, Ronald Pfumbidzai, Teenage Hadebe, Kelvin Moyo, Byron Madzokere, Nyasha Munetsi, Tafadzwa Kutinyu, Liberty Chakaroma, Richard Hachiro, Talent Chawapiwa, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Khama Billiat, Evans Rusike, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Knox Mtizwa, Divine Lunga, Danny Phiri and skipper Knowledge Musona.

United States based Lucky Mkosana, Welsh based Alec Mudimu and Eric Chipeta are expected in camp today.
