Can Terrence Dzvukamanja Close The Gap On Injured Supersport United Ace Evans Rusike In Warriors' Afcon Squad To Face DR Congo?

Newly signed Bidvest Wits forward Terrence Dzvukamanja has been called to replace the injured Supersport United hot shot Evans Rusike in the latest Zimbabwe Warriors provisional squad to face the DR Congo in a back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifier encounter on October 13 in Kinshasa and then three days later in Harare‚ and many fans who are not familiar to the Bidvest Wits front man are wondering if he is the right man to fill a Evans Rusike shaped hole in the Warriors squad.

Well, although we can not compare Dzvukamanja to Rusike who has had a great start to the season so far with Supersport United scoring 4 goals plus 2 assists in six premier league appearances, but the Bidvest Wits attacking midfielder has qualities that will make Chidzambga forget about missing Rusike.

Having joined Wits at the start of the season after impressing at the Cosafa cup in Polokwane with Zimbabwe Warriors, Dzvukamanja has hit the ground running at Bidvest Wits, scoring on his league debut against Kaizer Chiefs before making 3 assists in 6 premier league appearances so far this season, playing a total of 379' minutes.

Dzvukamanja (24), might have little experience when it comes to international games having made his debut during this year's Cosafa Cup, but the Bidvest Wits forward has exhibited maturity and strong character to handle any game situation after making his debut for Gavin Hunt coached side where he took no time to settle.

The former Ngezi Platinum midfielder, has the capacity to make a huge impact in the Warriors squad if he got chance to get game time during the two encounters.

From the squad that did duty against Congo Brazzaville in the previous Afcon qualifier, only Tendayi Darikwa is the new addition to the squad that was in camp last month after the England born Nottingham Forest right-back received his Zimbabwean passport last week.

Marvelous Nakamba, Ovidy Karuru and Leeroy Mavunga who withdrew in the last encounter due to injuries and attending trials respectively have all returned for the double header against DR Congo.

Besides Rusike, Orlando Pirates winger Kudakwashe Mahachi is another big omission in Chidzambga's latest squad to face DR Congo including USA based Lucky Mkosana who was part of the squad that traveled to Congo Brazzaville, are all out of 13 and 16 October encounters.

Mahachi who recently turned 25 and was influential in Zimbabwe Warriors' draw away to Congo Brazzaville, is struggling to get game time at the Buccaneers having only featured in two league matches this season.

Evans Rusike suffered an ankle sprain in Supersport United's MTN8 clash against Cape Town City last Saturday and will be sidelined for three weeks.
