Willard Katsande Returns As Mhofu Names Zimbabwe Provisional Squad For Liberia Tie!

Kaizier Chiefs midfield work-horse, Willard Katsande is back in the Warriors squad to face Liberia in the Africa Cup of Nations Group G penultimate match against Liberia on the 18th 0f November 2018 in Monrovia.

Coach Sunday Chidzambwa named a 21 member provisional squad including the 32-year-old former Warriors captain Katsande who in the past was suspended along with Matthew Rusike, Nyasha Mushekwi and Cuthbert Malajila for allegedly indiscipline before they depart for Afcon Cup finals 2017 in Gabon.

Chidzambwa also included Dynamos goalkeeper Simbarashe Chinani in the squad for the first time dropping off How Mine's Donovan Bernard.

The striking duo of Tinotenda Kadewere and Evans Rusike who missed in the previous matches because of injuries are back in the team even though they are still to get game time at their respective clubs.

Katsande's return is a big boost for Zimbabwe Warriors who will be without new boy Tendayi Darikwa due to suspension and are looking for a win in Monrovia to seal their qualification to Cameroon finals next year with a game to spare.

Skipper Knowledge Musona and Welsh based defender Alec Mudimu will also be available for Liberia tie after missing the last encounter against DR congo due to suspension.

 Warriors are on top of group G with 8 points from 4 matches and a three points cushion from second placed DR Congo who are on 5 points in as much games.
