Zimbabwe Warriors Ready For A Second Battle Against Wounded Leopards!

This evening- Tuesday 16th October 2018, Zimbabwe Warriors are taking on DR Congo in their second leg of the Africa Cup of nations qualifier group G encounter after beating them 1-2 in the first leg in Kinshasa on Saturday.

The Warriors arrived back in Harare on Sunday afternoon, after a shocking win away to DR Congo which left them on the summit of group G with 7 points from three matches with a three point gap above rivals DR Congo and have resumed training on Monday ahead of  the second leg on Tuesday night against the wounded Leopards.

A win will certainly guarantee Zimbabwe Warriors a ticket to Africa Cup of nations finals in Cameroon next year.

However, Coach Sunday Chidzambwa is very aware of the threat DR Congo possesses, especially now that they know Zimbabwe Warriors are no push overs, after a surprise defeat in front of their home crowd last weekend.

“We know we are playing a very strong side, which is highly ranked in Africa. If we are to get a good result we have to fight very hard. I know they are going to come at us but we are prepared for that,” said Chidzambwa in a Herald report.

The Warriors will be without their captain Knowledge Musona who was send off in the first leg after receiving two yellow cards, but Chidzambwa has already re- called  Leeroy Mavhunga, Richard Hachiro and Rodwell Chinyengetere who were part of the initial squad that was selected for DR Congo matches to cover for injuries.

DR Congo arrived in Harare on Monday morning and are looking for nothing else but a victory to safeguard their chances of qualifying and atone lost pride.

Ovidy Karuru will certainly lead the Warriors charges in the absence of skipper Knowledge Musona whilst Khama Billiat is expected to play an important role tonight to ensure a good result tonight.

Nottingham Forest defender, Tendayi Darikwa who made his official debut on Saturday in Kinshasa and Welsh based midfielder cum defender Alec Mudimu will be featuring in their first match in front of the home crowd.
