Zimbabwe Warriors Missed Another Chance To Secure Early AFCON Qualification!

Zimbabwe Warriors will have to wait until next year March to know their fate in the Africa cup of Nations qualifiers after they suffered their first defeat in Group G at the hands of Liberia's Lone Star in Monrovia on Sunday.

The Warriors who had hoped to book their fourth Africa cup of nations qualifier with a game to spare, were dealt a big blow after a 1-0 loss to Liberia.

Chidzambwa made four changes from the first eleven that played DR Congo at home in the previous fixture bringing in Willard Katsande, Tino Kadewere, Alec Mudimu and Knowledge Musona to start against Liberia.

72' minutes into the game, Liberian Skipper William Jebor opened the scoring just after Zimbabwe Warriors squandered their glorious chance to break the deadlock, in a match that was full of errors and missed opportunities for the visitors.

Liberia employed stalling tactics after their goal, and even dismissed ball boys from their duties to further frustrating the Zimbabweans who had a bad day of themselves.

However, Zimbabwe Warriors are still on top of group G on 8 points with Liberia occupying second position on 7 points, DR Congo third on 6 points and Congo our last opponents on 5 points, making the last matches scheduled for March next year, much more important.
