Delic Murimba's Brace Leads Young Warriors To A Winning Start In The 2018 COSAFA U20 Championship!

Promising young attacking midfielder Delic Murimba scored a brace in Young warriors' opening win against Botswana.

Triangle based attacking midfielder, Delic Murimba put out a man of the match performance to propel Young Warriors to the top of Group C of the 2018 MOPANI Copper Mines COSAFA Under-20 Championship after a 2-1 victory over Botswana on Monday afternoon.

The 18-year old former Hwange player who has been long on Bulawayo giants Highlanders' rader even before joining Triangle, started the match like a roof on fire as he opened the scoring in the first minute of the game to put the Young Warriors ahead.

But, moments later in the game, Botswana managed to calm things down and exert pressure on Bekithemba Ndlovu's boys getting an equaliser in the 42nd minutes of the game to force a 1-1 draw before the half time.

Murimba got his brace in the 71st minutes to seal a much fought victory for the Young Warriors who are now leading group C with 3 points followed by Lesotho and Angola who are both on a point each after their 1-1 draw yesterday in the opening day of the Cosafa championship hosted in Nkana, Zambia with Botswana at the bottom of the log after their loss in the opening matches.

Coach Bekithemba Ndlovu who has a lot to prove after his side Bulawayo City were relegated from the Zimbawe premier soccer league in the just ended season, had a breath of fresh air after an improved performance by his charges compared to previous tournaments where they have failed to win their opening matches.

"Its a big improvement, we created a lot of chances and we could've scored more goals. Our aim is to do better than last time, keep clean sheets and score more goals", said the Young Warriors coach after the game.

Young Warriors will play Lesotho in their second Group C match scheduled on Wednesday the 5th of December 2018 at Shinde Stadium- kick-off 15:30hrs local time.
