Zifa new president Mr. Felton Kamambo

Former Mhangura F.C player Felton Kamambo is the new Zimbabwe Football Association president after defeating the incumbent Philip Chiyangwa in the association's annual general polls in Harare on Sunday.

Southern Region chairperson Gift Banda has also been elected new vice-Chairperson defeating Chiyangwa's right-hand man Omega Sibanda.

Kamambo amassed a total of 35 votes against Chiyangwa's 24 to force a re-run, but however the former boss and Chinhoyi member of parliament threw in the towel before the re-run and Kamambo was automatically declared winner.

Kamambo's victory dawns a new era in Zimbabwe football ending Chiyangwa's two year reign as the president of the association and also loses his Cosafa presidency and his role as the vice-president of the Confederations of African Football (CAF).

Meanwhile Kamambo a businessman who worked under Chiyangwa stewardship in the board from 2015 until February this year has promised to deliver on his mandate, that includes a more efficient, richer, transparent and successful administration.
