Ray Of Hope For Knowledge Musona As Anderlecht Fire Coach!

Zimbabwe Warriors skipper Knowledge Musona was given a new ray of hope after his club announced the termination of Hein Vanhaezebrouck's contract as Anderlecht's head coach with immediate effect.

The 54-year-old coach was released from his duties on Sunday after a string of poor results that saw the team booted out of the Belgian FA cup and the Europa League competition.

Vanhaezebrouk's departure came as a ray of hope for Musona who was contemplating a return to his former club KV Oostende after frustrated with lack of game time at the Brussels outfit.

Musona who joined Anderlecht at the start of the season on a long term deal after an impressive spell with KV Oostende, has only played a total of 299 minutes from 8 games that he has featured so far in the Belgian Pro league for the Brussels side, managing only three starts, substituted five times and came in as a substitute in a couple of games.

Musona's move to Anderletcht which was facilitated by the then KV Oostende boss and now Anderlecht chairman Marc Coucke who is known to be fond of the Zimbabwean, was hailed as a good move for the club with Musona believed to spearhead the team in the Europa league, but the Zimbabwean skipper fell out of favor of coach Hein appearing only two times in the competition before the team was knocked out of the Europa League without a win.

Coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck only managed three points from six matches in the group stages of the Europa league competition after drawing three times and his final straw came after a defeat against Cercle Brugge which became the sixth defeat of the season.

Coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck who joined Anderlecht in October 2017 after a successful season with AA Gent seemed to have lost control of his players with some of his big players reportedly slacking at training forcing him to play a B-Team in his last Europa League group D match against Zagreb.

Nothing has been decided yet about Hein's successor as the club is currently discussing the future of the sports staff, but a new candidate will be announced soon.
