Bekithemba Ndlovu's Young Warriors are through to this year's Mopani Copper Mines Cosafa U20 Championship finals for the first time since 2007 after putting out a brilliant performance to dismiss host Zambia 2-1 in the second semi- final played on Tuesday afternoon at Nkana Stadium.

Current Cosafa U20 Championship joint top goal scorer Delic Murimba increased his tally to four goals at the tournament and go level with South Africa's Lyle Foster and Zambia's Prince Mumba, after providing the winning goal in the 70th minutes to seal a hard fought 2-1 victory over northern rivals Zambia to secure a spot in the final against South Africa who beat Angola 1-0 earlier in first semi-final at the same venue.

Zambia started the match like a roof on fire grabbing the opening goal in the first 37th minutes of the game to put the host ahead courtesy of joint top scorer Prince Mumba, but Bekithemba Ndlovu's boys showed character grabbing the equaliser through Captain fantastic Andrew Mbeba in the 38th minutes to go to half time on a 1-1 draw.

Zimbabwe premier soccer league rookie of the year 2018, Tatenda Tumba was inspirational again as he grabbed his second man-of-the match award.

Bekithemba Ndlovu credited the win to the fighting spirit of his team that saw them dismissing host Zambia to advance to their first final since 2007, where they lost to South Africa.

"My boys did well, they fought hard. Zambia is not a weak team, said Bekithemba

"It was not easy, Zambia is a good side. They went out, played as a unit ,got the goals and defended well. It was not easy, Zambia is a good side but they fought hard," said the coach.

Zimbabwe will play defending Champions South Africa in the finals in a repeat of 2007 final at Nkana stadium on Thursday 14 December 2018. Zambia will play Angola in the 3rd place match.
