Young Warriors Through To COSAFA U20 Championship Despite Loss To Angola!

Zimbabwe Young Warriors are through to this year's Mopani Copper Mines Cosafa Under20 Championship despite suffering a 4-1 massacre at the hands of Angola on Sunday as they finish top of group C with six points from three games.

Bekithemba Ndlovu's boys had already qualified for the knockout stages and made eight changes to his side handing game time to some of his new players, but Angola were able to capitalize on the Warriors' lack of cohesion.

Blessing Sarupinda scored the consolation goal for the Young Warriors in the 49th minutes of the game to finish the match on 4-1 scoreline.

The Young Warriors who finish on top of group C will play Group A winners Zambia in the second semi-final battle scheduled for Tuesday 11th December 2018 at Nkana Stadium.

The first semi-final battle will pit Group B winners, South Africa versus best runners-up -Angola who edged Mozambique on goal-difference to book their semi-final spot.

Meanwhile, the third place play-offs and the final match will now be played on Thursday at Nkana stadium and not Friday as previously arranged due to a CAF Champions League fixture scheduled on Friday at the same venue.
